The Rainbow Support Service

In 2013, MGRM set up the first support service for LGBTIQ individuals, their family and friends. The service is committed to enhance the quality of life of LGBTIQ individuals, their family and friends through the provision of information, consultation and psycho-social welfare services.

The Rainbow Support Service aims to: provide an intake social work service whereby users can obtain information and support on LGBTIQ issues; provide one-to-one social work session and interventions, as well as group support sessions; promote the development of self-help within the LGBTIQ community, provide one-to-one therapeutic sessions to LGBTIQ individuals,  provide training and consultation sessions to professionals on LGBTIQ affirmative practice and other LGBTIQ issues; assist in the promotion of positive public awareness and provide legal advice where required as well as training on LGBTIQ issues and the law.

The Rainbow Support Service Youth Group.

The Youth Group in Malta is facilitated by the Rainbow Support Service staff and is hosted at YouthHub, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ. St. Joseph High Road, St. Venera. The service is open twice a month every 1st and 3rd Friday between 17:00 and 19:00. Details are available on our Facebook page.

The Youth Drop-In service in Gozo is facilitated by the Rainbow Support Service staff in collaboration with LGBTI+ Gozo and is hosted at the Education Office, Triq l-Ewropa, Victoria, Gozo. The drop-in service is open every first Friday of the month between 19:00 and 21:00.

This service aims to provide a safe meeting place where LGBTIQ youth come together to meet their peers, talk over common concerns build friendships and seek support if required. The Youth Drop-In caters for young people aged 15 to 25.

Consultancy Service

The Rainbow Support Service includes a consultation service with other professionals working with LGBTIQ service users from other agencies and service in Malta and Gozo.

Some information giving sessions may be addressed to other professionals who request the exchange of knowledge on LGBTIQ issues with the aim to facilitate and empower other professionals in their work with this client group. Social Work Service

This service aims to provide support and information to individuals and families who seek the support of the service for different reasons. This service aims to offer a constant and consistent social work support service with the aim to out-reach to service users who identify at LGBTIQ, their families and friends. For an appointment email us at support@maltagayrights.org or call +356 79430006. 

Other Services

Kafé mill- Uffiċċju

This is the first social event for 25 yrs+ adults. This service is facilitated by the Rainbow Support Service staff and is hosted at MGRM office, 32, Parish Street, Mosta. The activity takes place every 4th Friday of the month and consists of coffee, biscuits and a chat at our office. These events are for everyone who wishes to make new friends or connect more with the LGBTIQ community.
