Contracting of Curator

This year will represent the 20th anniversary of MGRM. We would like to mark this significant event with a commemorative, informative and cultural initiative which pays tribute to the work of our volunteers, to the power of voluntary organisations, to their ability to change societies and make them more inclusive as well as provide a cultural event, accompanied with a pictorial history of MGRM and the Maltese LGBTIQ community, which will contribute to the cultural events of 2021 in Malta. The project will center on the publication of this pictorial guide as well as an exhibition incorporating that history and within that exhibition, a special exhibition displaying the clothes of a pioneer of Trans rights in Malta, Katya.

Aims of the project

The project will achieve 3 inter-related objectives. The gathering and processing of material for both the book and the exhibition will allow for cooperation amongst the various LGBTIQ organisations in Malta as well as the wider community.

The organisation of that material and the publication of the book will allow us to showcase the work of volunteers, their important contribution to Maltese society and the history of volunteering in Malta, albeit in a particular, specific areas (human rights and social inclusion).

The final stage of the project, the actual exhibition, will showcase the work of volunteers.
