As MGRM approaches two decades of LGBTIQ rights activism which have resulted in significant social, cultural and legal transformation, MGRM sought to collate the experiences of the older generation who remember a very different time when such progress could scarcely have been imagined.
#OurStory is a Rainbow Support Service youth project funded through Aġenzija Żgħażagħ. The young people met with and interviewed LGBTIQ couples who have entered a civil union or marriage. The interviews were recorded and edited by the young people with the assistance and support of Nadine Noko and the Rainbow Support Service Team.
This project, funded through the Voices Foundation aims to address the difficulties encountered by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth related to the recognition of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity in a society that may not always be eagerly willing to accept difference.
